A Funny Thing Happened

Raymond students Emily Gagne, Emily Algeo, Brad Meader, Greg Meader, Hannah Brackett, Sean Mains, Parker Perkins, Isaac Forbes, David and Maria Sepulveda are playing roles in the Windham High School musical production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” If you missed opening weekend you can still catch the show Nov. 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. or Sunday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Windham High School Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Many of these talented students will also be performing in the sold-out Windham Chamber Singers annual “American Family Tradition” on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa Claus will be visiting Raymond on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Raymond Village Community Church Holiday Fair. Start your holiday shopping early at 8 a.m. with a yummy breakfast. Egg sandwiches, coffee cake, Blueberry Buckle, hot tea and coffee will be available. Fill a container with delicious homemade cookies on the Cookie Walk for only $5. Pick up some quality handmade knitted hats, mittens or scarves. Twelve different vendors will be there with crafts and gifts. You can even purchase a high quality Christmas wreath and have it decorated while you shop. Venture upstairs at the eight different business tables for great deals. There will be silent auction items and a raffle ticket for a gorgeous knitted blanket. Children to meet Santa, make a craft and decorate their own Gingerbread man. Box Tops for Education

The Raymond Schools PTO would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the students and staff at Jordan-Small Middle School for their efforts in the recent box tops collection/contest. Due to the efforts of both schools and our community, PTO was able to submit 12,000 box tops! PTO will be receiving a $1,200 check shortly from General Mills. Congratulations to Mr. Fitch’s classroom for being the top-collecting classroom at JSMS with 1,140 box tops submitted. A PTO member will be connecting with Mr. Fitch soon to organize a celebration. Special thanks to Caj MacDonald for her continued leadership with the PTO Boxtops for Education project.

Basic Training Completed

Marine Pvt Cameron White, son of Wendy (White) Beatty of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Raymond; and Steven White of Windham; grandson of Bob and Elaine Jones formerly of Raymond, Sandi White of Windham and Dick White of Tennessee, has just completed basic training in Parris Island, NC. He is continuing on to infantry training at Camp Lejeune, NC from November until February as a machine gunner. His plans are to return to the Windham area while continuing in the Marine reserves for six years.

Raymond Recreation Ski Program

Did you miss registration for the Raymond Rec Ski Program? If so, there is still time to register. The program offers busing to Shawnee Peak and a pass to ski each week. Beginners are welcome and will have instruction with a chaperone. A Wednesday afternoon program is offered for grades 1-2 with a parent/chaperone as well as for grades 3-8.
