Two out-of-towners claimed first place Thursday morning in the 32nd Portland Thanksgiving 4-Miler running race.
Wade Meddles, 21, of Richmond, Ky., was the overall winner in 20 minutes, 53 seconds.
Michelle Lilienthal, 31, of Minneapolis, placed first among the women in 22:43.
Both runners were in town visiting friends for the holiday.
Of the record 1,944 registrants, 1,703 finished in the cold, windy conditions.
Matthew Methot, 23, of Portland finished second in 21:15. Claton Conrad, 31, of Portland placed third (21:30).
Among the women, Kat Pagano, 25, of Hollis, was second (24:48) and Jodi Theriault, 33, of Portland third in 24:55.
