AUGUSTA — Maine residents donated 930 winter coats last month to help Maine seniors stay warm this winter.
This year’s donation through the Coats for Seniors project is up from 600 coats donated last year. The project is a partnership between the Maine Area Agencies on Aging and Merrymeeting Bay Triad as well as Maine businesses like L.L. Bean.
L.L. Bean gave $5 for every coat that was donated this year, or a total of $4,650, to the Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
