LEWISTON — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade boys basketball team opened its season with a 40-32 setback to Lewiston on Thursday.

The Huskies shot just 22 percent (10 of 45) from the field, and the Blue Demons turned a 21-17 halftime into a 30-17 advantage with a 9-0 thirdquarter run.

Colby Buckman led Brunswick with 14 points and 11 rebounds, with Zach Boyle and Miah Larrabee playing a strong floor game.

Lewiston received 13 points and 10 boards from Garret Poussard, while James Whitmore chipped in eight points.

The Huskies are scheduled to host Oxford Hills in their home opener today.
