HUEBLER is a senior at Morse High School and plans to attend college or possibly join the U.S. Army after graduation.
Benjamin Huebler of Troop 621 was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in November.
As he has attained the rank of Eagle and is now age 18, Ben has “aged out” as a Scout but continues to serve Troop 621 in Bath as an assistant Scoutmaster.
Huebler is a senior at Morse High School and plans to attend college or possibly join the U.S. Army after graduation.
He is the son of Joseph Huebler and Kristina Nielsen of Bath; paternal grandparents William and Marianne Huebler, of Escanaba, Mich.; and maternal grandparents Ronald Nielsen of Freeport and Sandra Knowlen of Bath.
The Boy Scouts of America’s highest advancement rank, the Eagle Scout badge is earned by 5 percent of Boy Scouts and requires a rigorous program that combines traditional outdoors acumen and environmental science with civic involvement and community leadership, as shown by the achievement of more than 20 merit badges by each candidate and completion of a major community service project.
Huebler has served in Troop 621 as a patrol leader, bugler and chaplain, and completed his Scouting career as senior patrol leader. He hiked for 14 days over 97 miles through the rugged and remote backcountry of New Mexico at the Philmont Scouting Ranch with his troop in 2011.
His grandfather, Bill Huebler, was associated with Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years. His father, Joe Huebler, was a Cub Scout and Scout and served as Cub Master of Troop 621.
