WESTBROOK — Zack Bean pitched a one-hitter Tuesday as Saco-Biddeford Savings scored an 8-1 victory against Yankee Ford in an American Legion baseball opener.
Bean struck out 14 and walked two.
Bean, B.J. Henrickson and Keenan Lowe each had a pair of hits for Saco-Biddeford Savings, which totaled 14 hits.
MASSABESIC 8, BONANZA 2: Shawn Adams had three singles as Massabesic (1-1) defeated Bonanza (0-2) in a game that featured a combined eight errors at Sanford.
Massabesic scored three runs in the first inning and added four in the sixth.
Zach Ohmeis had a double for Massabesic, the only extra-base hit of the game.
BIDDEFORD-SACO SAVINGS 6, YORK-WELLS 5: Corey Brown hit a first-inning grand slam and Biddeford-Saco Savings held on at York.
Brown also was the winning pitcher, giving up five runs on five hits.
Forrest Kelley had three hits for York-Wells.
JUNIOR LEGION
SOUTH PORTLAND 4, YANKEE FORD 2: South Portland (1-1) scored single runs in each of the first three innings and held off Yankee Ford (1-1) at Portland.
YARMOUTH POST 3, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 1: Yarmouth Post scored single runs in the first two innings and held on in an opener.
Trevor Therrien had the only RBI for Saco-Biddeford Savings.

RAGING TIDE 3, ROX 2: Graham McIntire went 3 for 3 with a run as the Raging Tide (3-8) put together a fifth-inning rally to edge Brockton (9-1) at Old Orchard Beach.
Brockton took the lead in the fourth on a double by Jake Willsey.
The Raging Tide took the lead for good in the fifth on an RBI fielder’s choice by Rahiem Cooper and a two-run single by Jake Osborne.
