Nicelys retiring

Matt and Darcy Nicely closed their archery business, Nicely Equipped Archery, on June 1 and are retiring.

“We have really enjoyed our students of all ages,” they said in a statement. “We’ve had great shooters come in and out of our doors. We thank every one of you for your support and patronage.”

Matt Nicely, a Level 3 coach, has coached for 13 years. Their daughter, Kendal Nicely, who became an archery professional at age 16, won two world titles, participated in 12 world championships, earned 13 world records and 12 world medals.

The Nicelys said they would miss their archery family and have really enjoyed their students of all ages. They closed the retail part of their business in 2007.

“With both our kids through college and on their own, it’s our time to work one job and enjoy our nights and weekends for ourselves,” they said. “We are happy, healthy and blessed to enter this phase of our life.”
