A woman was seriously injured Saturday at Winterport Dragway after she was pinned between a race car and a truck.

Police identified the woman as  Dale Harvey, 50, from Warren. The accident took place as her boyfriend, Jay Lundevall, 53, was driving the car onto a trailer and the car pinned Harvey between the car and the truck attached to the trailer, according to police. No charges will be filed, police said.

The president of the raceway, Jim Watson, told the WCSH-TV, Channel 6, that a racer was loading his car onto a trailer when his foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator.

The woman was taken by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Police did not release information about Harvey’s condition.

According to the television station, Saturday’s races after the incident were canceled.
