In a do-nothing U.S. Congress, Mike Michaud recently played a key role in passing the VA compromise bill that will help all of Maine’s veterans.

As the ranking member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, he was a lead negotiator on the bill. The final bill included many of the ideas Mike originally introduced, such as an extension for Project ARCH, which benefits veterans in rural areas.

Project ARCH allows vets to receive quality care close to their homes through support networks, such as Cary Medical Center in Caribou. Without this program, veterans would have to make a long trek to the VA Hospital at Togus for care.

Some people use their hands to continually pat themselves on their back; Mike uses his to do the hard work that yields results for Mainers.

On Nov. 4, let’s elect Mike Michaud as our next governor.
