Maybe it’s just me, but with all the really important and newsworthy stories that must be out there, the Press Herald’s lead story Sept. 4 concerns a Gorham police officer who shot some mangy feral cat that he believed to be rabid (“Stray cat recovering from shooting by officer who suspected rabies”). Turns out it wasn’t. What an outrage.
I understand the officer’s name has not been released – it’s probably too dangerous to him to make it public. Glad to hear that a full investigation is underway and that the Gorham Police Department has protocol in place to be followed in such cases.
Also, it was wonderful to learn that “Clark” is resting and recovering nicely. The X-rays of the damaged leg were an added bonus.
Are you guys serious? Your paper is becoming too stupid to read.
