CAMDEN — A unique 5K mountain trail challenge, the Ragged Mountain Scuttle, is set to be held on Oct. 11 at the Snow Bowl.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. It features 20 obstacles on a ski trail for the adults and costs just $5 to participate. There is also a smaller course for children.
The event is sponsored by the Boston Beer Company. Live music will be presented by Captain Obvious from Belfast.
This family event is fit for all ages. Runners will not hit fire, ice nor electricity, just the mountain terrain, the foliage and 20 obstacles to climb over, jump on or crawl through. The majority of the course will be on the 22 Tacks ski trail on Ragged Mountain.
To register, go to www.Raggedmountainscuttle.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
