It’s interesting that Eliot Cutler is calling for more than the six gubernatorial debates already scheduled this fall. Is it possible that he’s eager to use his Harvard and Georgetown Law debate skills on our perpetually self-embarrassing governor and on congressman Mike Michaud, who wears his North Woods Maine blue collar quite proudly?

Two questions might be asked of Mr. Cutler in any of the debates:

Does he really care about the future of Maine, or is this a repeat vanity move on his part?

What has he done for the state of Maine in the 30 years or so that Mike Michaud has served as a state legislator and a U.S. congressman?

Democrat Mike Michaud’s experience fighting for the people of Maine and his working-class Maine roots are two reasons I’ll certainly be voting for him in November. Please, let’s not allow a repeat of the 2010 governor’s race.
