FALMOUTH — Elle Fitzgerald took a shot from the left side that just caught the corner of the net to give the Falmouth field hockey team a 3-2 overtime victory over Fryeburg Academy on Monday.

Fitzgerald set up Morgan Allen in the first half to give Falmouth a 1-0 lead. Fryeburg stormed back to take the lead on a pair of goals by Nikki Thurston.

Fitzgerald then tied the game with an unassisted goal with 13:50 left in regulation. Sydney Bell had an assist on the game-winner.

Elizabeth Amadei had four saves for Falmouth (7-3), while Jasmine Ramsey had 10 saves for Fryeburg.

KENNEBUNK 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Brittney Gregoire, Lindsey Gregoire and Jackie Murphy scored one goal each to lead the Rams (5-5) past the Capers (5-5) at Kennebunk.

FREEPORT 1, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Bailey Coffin scored with six minutes left in the first half to give the Falcons (7-3) a win over Gray-New Gloucester (1-9) in Freeport.

Morgan Karnes made one save for Freeport. Adrianna Kimball finished with 27 saves for the Patriots.

MARSHWOOD 3, DEERING 0: The Hawks (7-1) scored three goals in the second half to beat the Rams (4-4-1) in Portland.

Lindsey Poirier, Madison Eastman and Abby Doyle all scored for the Hawks. Goaltender Cassidy Smith made three saves to record the shutout. Lillian Frager had nine saves for the Rams.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, OLD ORCHARD 0: Sacopee Valley (5-5) scored two goals in the second half to beat Old Orchard Beach (0-10) in South Hiram.

Elizabeth Ouellette gave the Hawks early in the second half. Miranda Schaubhut added insurance goal with two minutes left.

Chloe Ronco made three saves for Sacopee Valley. Jenny Cobb had 31 saves for OOB.

YARMOUTH 1, WAYNFLETE 0: Molly Wilson had the only goal of the game near the end of the first half as Yarmouth (9-0) beat Waynflete (2-6-1) in Portland.

Tori Messina finished with 11 saves for Yarmouth while Kiera MacWhinnie had 24 saves for Waynflete.

Boys’ soccer

RANGELEY 2, A.R. GOULD 1: Joe Livera scored twice in the first half as Rangeley (2-4) beat A.R. Gould (0-6) in South Portland.

Gage Barton scored for A.R. Gould in the second half.

Goalie Hunter Lowell had seven saves for the Lakers. Dariyin Wolfe finished with 18 saves for A.R. Gould.

Girls’ soccer

RANGELEY 3, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Michaela Shorey scored two goals as the Lakers (3-2-1) beat Greater Portland Christian School (0-8) in South Portland.

Taylor Estes added a goal for Rangeley.

Sydney Royce had four saves for the shutout. Greater Portland Christian goalie Clarissa Jones recorded 29 saves.

Volleyball

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Katie Connolly had 10 kills and Monika Scheindel added 12 as Cape Elizabeth beat Biddeford, at Cape Elizabeth.

GORHAM 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Chatham Mills had eight kills and two blocks to pace Gorham in a win over Thornton Academy at Saco.

Cassidy Landry had 13 assists and two aces for the Rams. Maddie Bennett had 10 digs and one ace.

NORTH YARMOUTH 3, LAKE REGION 0: Anya Siviski had five aces, two kills and six assist for the Panthers (2-6) in a win over Lake Region (0-6).
