Maine has reached a turning point. The two political parties have not delivered on their promises. We’re unsure of the two-party system – but we keep plodding. I’d rather not plod anymore.

I’m a Maine Republican – an “old” one. In my time, I’ve never seen such angst as we have with Gov. Paul LePage. Equally, Rep. Mike Michaud presides now over inexplicable chaos within the Veterans Administration and other matters. Each endlessly bickers with the other.

Meanwhile, Maine suffers – bypassed clearly by energy projects, real environmental improvement options and investment initiatives we didn’t even try for. Hearing “Dead State Walking” from New Yorkers is getting old. Neither LePage nor Michaud has a plan. And we’re weary from all of it.

Look at voting records, listening skills, at the veterans debacle, missed investment opportunities, at business acumen and at attitudes and demeanor – how can you not vote for independent Eliot Cutler?
