WALDOBORO — A Lincoln County woman, whom police allege was behind a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation in Greater Rockland, has been arrested.

Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested 41-year-old Regina Bowman at her Castner Road home in Waldoboro on Wednesday evening.

After obtaining a search warrant, drug agents went to her home and seized 17 grams of cocaine that had been individually packaged in 1-gram quantities. They also recovered $3,000 in suspected drug proceeds, weigh scales, cutting agents and packaging materials.

One gram of cocaine sells for about $100 in the midcoast region.

Bowman was charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs (cocaine), a Class B felony, and was taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. She was released on $15,000 bail.

McCausland said law enforcement agents have been investigating Bowman’s cocaine distribution activities for two months.
