Our political parties have let us down, offering a choice between two flawed gubernatorial candidates. We have a third option: independent Eliot Cutler, with a proven record of success in the public and private sectors.

Mike Michaud is a nice man, but “nice” doesn’t translate to skills essential for a chief executive. Keep him in Congress. They don’t do much there anyway.

Then there’s our governor, who gets confused between bringing people together for consensus and cramming mandates down everyone’s throat. Didn’t anyone ever tell him you can’t be a leader without followers?

The Democrats want us to vote for Michaud out of fear of re-electing LePage. Fear is not a valid reason to vote for governor.

Cutler offers the alternative of hope for a united Maine that will move us forward to solve tough, long-standing problems. If enough of us have the courage of our convictions, hope will prevail!
