I appreciate Rep. Heather Sirocki’s ability to remain fiercely principled and yet work with people from very diverse backgrounds and ideals. She’s a straight talker about the issues, and she finds creative ways to make the marketplace work for ordinary Mainers and to make sure they get the services they need in a safe environment.
Take, for example, the awful dental shortage facing Maine. Understanding that half of Maine children don’t see a dentist, Heather teamed up with Speaker Mark Eves and Sen. David Burns to find a marketplace solution to improve the access to quality care. Heather forged the agreement to make dental therapy the law in Maine.
