ORONO — Rhoni Gericke’s overtime goal gave the Yale field hockey team a 4-3 victory Sunday over Maine.

The Black Bears scored three second-half goals to force overtime, but Gericke scored on a feed from Nicole Wells as the Bulldogs took the nonconference match.

Gericke scored the lone goal of the first half in the 10th minute. She then scored in the 41st minute to double Yale’s lead to 2-0. Maine answered with goals from Cassidy Svetek, assisted by Holly Stewart, and from Stewart on a penalty corner.

Georgia Holland’s goal on a penalty corner regained the lead for the Bulldogs.

Nicole Sevey and Becca Paradee set up Annabelle Hamilton for the tying goal in the 67th minute.

Heather Schelsier made 15 saves for Yale (6-7). Natasha Ford stopped eight shots for Maine (9-7).

COLBY 3, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: Megan Fortier scored a pair of second-half goals to help the Mules (7-5, 2-5 NESCAC) pull away from the Camels (4-7, 1-6) at New London, Connecticut.

Misha Strange open the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 38th minute. Fortier scored her first goal unassisted in the 51th minute and followed up with a goal in the 64th minute on a feed from Rebecca Moore.

Fortier, a junior from Falmouth, now has 31 career goals.

Sara Evans stopped all 10 shots she faced for Colby, while Ryley van der Velde had eight saves for Connecticut College.

ST. JOSEPH’S 9, MT. IDA 0: Bailey Cutler led a potent offense as the Monks (10-1, 4-0 GNAC) rolled past the Mustangs (4-7, 0-4) at Standish.

Kelsey Dumond had two goals and two assists, Effie Drew contributed two goals and an assist, and Amanda Celata added a goal and an assist. Emma Astbury did not need to make a save to record the shutout.

BOWDOIN 5, WILLIAMS 0: Rachel Kennedy scored four goals, three in a 10-minute span, and the Polar Bears (9-1, 6-1 NESCAC) shut out the Ephs (7-4, 4-3) at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Kennedy opened the scoring with an assist from Adrienne O’Donnell in the 20th minute. Kimmy Ganong made it 2-0 in the 34th minute off another O’Donnell assist, and Kennedy added three second-half goals in the final 11 minutes.

The Polar Bears held Williams to three shots.

MEN’S SOCCER

WILLIAMS 2, BOWDOIN 0: The Ephs (7-4-1, 5-2-0 NESCAC) scored in each half and held off the Polar Bears (7-4, 3-4) at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

J.C. Bahr-de Stefano and Zach Grady scored unassisted goals, and Christian Alcorn stopped four shots for the shutout.

COLBY 0, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: Peter Quayle stopped six shots for the Mules (5-5-2, 1-5-1 NESCAC) as the played to a scoreless draw against Connecticut College (5-6-1, 2-4-1) at New London, Connecticut.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

WILLIAMS 2, BOWDOIN 1: Kristi Kirshe scored 7:07 into the second overtime as the Ephs (10-1, 5-1 NESCAC) edged the Polar Bears (8-3, 5-2) at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Maddie Swarr gave Williams the lead late in the second half. Jamie Hofstetter answered six minutes later for Bowdoin.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1, COLBY 0: Michelle Medina scored in the 79th minute as the host Camels (10-1, 5-1 NESCAC) shut out the Mules (4-6-1, 1-5-1).

Emily Brook stopped 10 shots for Colby.

MARYLAND-BALTIMORE COUNTY 1, MAINE 0: Gabby Boehner set up Paige Preston for the only goal as the Retrievers (9-3-2, 1-1-2 America East) edged the Black Bears (3-7-4, 1-1-3) at Baltimore.

Jen Nance made one save for UMBC, while Claudia Dube-Trempe had three saves for Maine.
