She grew up in the Brunswick area and was educated in the Brunswick Catholic school system. Claire was always employed as a factory worker performing various jobs until her retirement in 1978. During that time, she married Stephen M. Bichrest Sr. on Sept. 3, 1938, at St. John’s Church in Brunswick.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls and will always be remembered for her love of spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by her three children: Stephen M. Bichrest Jr. and his wife Sheila of No. Myrtle Beach, SC, Joan Karkos of Spokane, WA, and Marcel Bichrest and his wife Evangeline of Lisbon Falls. She also leaves behind a brother, Roger Nadeau and his wife Betty of Brunswick, as well as 10 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Stephen M. Bichrest Sr. and three brothers: Gerard, Robert and Roland.
Visiting hours were held on Monday, Oct. 20 at Crosman from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls followed by committal prayers at Ss. Cyril and Methodias Cemetery, also in Lisbon Falls. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Claire’s memory to: Holy Trinity Church Building Fund, 67 Frost Hill Ave., Lisbon Falls, ME 04252.
