Residents of Durham and Pownal have no say in the Nov. 4 vote in which Freeport will decide if it wants to withdrawal from Regional School Unit 5.

But voters in both towns have plenty of reasons to go to the polls. They will be open at Durham Community School from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and the Town Hall in Pownal also will have polls open from 8-8.

In addition to the gubernatorial and congressional races, Pownal voters will consider state Senate District 24 and House Districts 46 and 48. In a three-way Senate 24 race, Democrat Stan Gerzofsky of Brunswick is on the ballot with Republican Jennifer Johnson and Green Independent Frederick Horch, both from Brunswick. Senate District 24 includes Brunswick, Freeport, Harpswell, Pownal and North Yarmouth. Pownal resident Paul Schulz, a Republican, faces Sara Gideon, a Freeport Democrat, in House District 48, which encompasses Freeport and part of Pownal. Both Durham and Pownal residents will vote on the House District 46 race, pitting Anne Graham of North Yarmouth, a Democrat, against Paul Chase, a Durham Republican. House District 46 includes the towns of Durham, part of Pownal and North Yarmouth.

Polls at Freeport High School will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
