SACO — Rosaire “Bob” Chasse, 75, of Saco, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2014 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, after a long illness.

He was born in Fort Kent on Dec. 1, 1938. He was the son of Alcide Chasse and Arlene (Dechaine) Chasse.

He attended schools in Biddeford and Saco, including Notre Dame de Lourdes and Thornton Academy.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in January 1957 and served until December 1977. After his retirement from the USAF, his service continued as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, from June 1978 through September 1998, when he retired at last.

He was preceded to heaven by both of his parents.

He is survived by: his sister, Theresa St. Ours of Biddeford and her husband Leo St. Ours, and their three sons.

He is also survived by: his two children, Raymond J. Chasse of California and Rachel A. Chasse, currently of Saco; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 9-11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel.
