A Maine government survey says the average statewide cash price for heating oil dropped 4 cents in early November.

The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price according to the Nov. 3 survey was $3.12, a 4-cent drop from the prior week. The average kerosene price of $3.68 was down 5 cents from the previous week. Propane prices dropped 2 cents to $2.82. Heating oil averaged $3.53 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene dropped 26 cents in that time and propane rose 12 cents.

The highest price for heating oil was found in central Maine, where prices topped out at $3.40.
