BURLINGTON, Vt. — Alexx Privitera and Jonathan Tuck scored a minute apart early in the first period, and the University of Vermont men’s hockey team rolled to a 4-1 win over the University of Maine on Saturday, completing a two-game sweep.

The Catamounts (6-1-1, 4-1-1 Hockey East) extended their lead to 3-0 at 6:03 on a goal by Jarri Privitera. Mike Stenerson also scored.

Connor Leen scored for Maine.

Sean Romeo made 27 saves for Maine (3-6-1, 2-2-2). Brody Hoff had 17 saves for Vermont.

CASTLETON STATE 3, UNNE 0: Ryan Mulder had 32 saves as the Spartans (2-1, 2-0 ECAC East) shut out the Nor’easters (2-1, 1-1) at Biddeford.

SKIDMORE 3, USM 1: Mickey Foley and Christian Leahy scored in the third period to lift Skidmore (2-1, 1-1 ECAC East) over the host Huskies (1-2, 0-2).

BOWDOIN 2, TUFTS 1: Mettler Growney scored in the 50th minute to give the Polar Bears( 16-1) the edge in a NESCAC semifinal in Brunswick.

UNE 4, ENDICOTT 3: Beth Sullivan converted a penalty stroke with 4:04 remaining in the second overtime to give the top-seeded University of New England (16-6) a victory over No. 3 Endicott (16-5) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference title game at Biddeford.

MEN’S SOCCER

BOWDOIN 1, MIDDLEBURY 0: Connor Keefe scored the decisive penalty kick in the shootout round to lift the No. 6 Polar Bears (9-6-2) over the No. 4 Panthers (9-3-5) in the NESCAC semifinals at Amherst College.

Connecticut College 1, Bowdoin 0: Annie Higgins scored the lone goal as the No. 3 Camels (15-2) beat No. 2 Bowdoin (12-4) in a NESCAC semifinal at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

SMCC 81, BERKELEY (N.Y.) 79: Atencio Martin hit a jump shot with 1:03 left to give the Seawolves (4-0) the lead for good against the visiting Knights (0-1).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

BERKELEY (N.Y.) 68, SMCC 38: The Knights (1-0) closed the first half with a 17-7 run, then coasted to a victory over the Seawolves (2-2).

Women’s hockey

CASTLETON STATE 5, UNE 1: Mary Steadman scored a pair of goals to power the Spartans (4-0, 2-0 ECAC East) past the University of New England (1-2, 0-2) at Rutland, Vermont.

NORWICH 4, USM 0: Adelle Murphy and Taylor Cross each had a goal and an assist to lead the Cadets (2-1-1, 2-0 ECAC East) to a win over Southern Maine (0-2, 0-2) at Northfield, Vermont.
