As a community, we in Portland must reach out to firefighters and police officers and tell them how thankful we are that they are doing their jobs. These are jobs they carry with them 24 hours each day and night, 365 days a year, every year. For example, during the worst fire in decades, when six people perished.

Our men and women who serve this city need acknowledgment and a “thank you” from the population – a wave when passing, verbal “thank yous” when in contact.

Remember who has your back all day, all night, every calendar year that passes.
