PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The longtime executive director of the Providence Children’s Museum is stepping down.
The museum says Janice O’Donnell will leave the museum on Friday.
O’Donnell was named executive director in 1985, and has been with the museum since 1979, two years after it opened in its original location in Pawtucket. Under her leadership, the museum relocated to Providence’s Jewelry District in 1997 and underwent a major building restoration and exhibit expansion in 2010.
