Thursday, Dec. 4: The monthly meeting of the Scarborough Historical Society will be held at 7:30 p.m. (different day). A brief business meeting is held and followed by a presentation. This meeting is held at the society’s museum and meeting room located at 647 Route 1 (adjacent to the Dunstan Fire Station). All monthly meetings are free to members of the public. However, donations are always welcomed. Tim Brignaham will describe and show pictures of the Victoria Mansion in Portland. The presentation will cover the history of the building and events associated with it today.

Dec. 4: Free and open to the public, a presentation by the Epilepsy Foundation describing the occurrence of seizures in our senior citizens and possible causes for them takes place 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Port Resources events room, 280B Gannett Drive, South Portland. This is your opportunity to learn more about the work of the Epilepsy Foundation as it relates to seniors in Maine. For more information, call 797-7891 or go to memoryworks.org.

Saturday, Dec. 6: The Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church will host its Jolly Snowman Christmas Fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Dec. 6: Starting at 6 p.m., the third annual Christmas Toy Drive party is being held at Evelyn’s Tavern, 121 Sawyer St. in South Portland. The drive is a partnership between the South Portland Police Department, South Portland schools and local businesses. There are many children that could use help this Christmas season.
