BIDDEFORD — Theode Charles “Ted” Langevin of Woodland Lake, Lake Alfred, Florida, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 15 in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ted was born on June 20, 1927 in Biddeford.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in October 1947. Ted retired from Amtrak railroad after 30 years.

He was a well-read, well-respected, intelligent man, who enjoyed jogging, biking and sailing. He was a loving and devoted husband and father; he will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

Ted is survived by: his loving wife of 67 years, Rose; his three sons, Ted Langevin Jr. and his wife Dori of Spokane Valley, Washington, Dennis Langevin and his wife Germaine of Franklin, Massachusetts, and Robert Langevin and his wife Arlene of Rancho Cucamonga, California; his only daughter, Dianne (Langevin) Langevin and her husband Ray of Wells; his grandchildren, Staceylin and Shawn Adams of Chesterfield, Virginia, Kelliann and Ian Penn of Clarksville, Maryland, Renee and Boz Pavlovic of Georgetown, Grand Cayman, Jason and Luisa Langevin of Bellingham, Massachusetts, Christopher and Caitlin Langevin of Longwood, Florida, Jeffrey Langevin and Lauren Eichler of Eugene, Oregon, Amy Langevin of Los Angeles, Jennifer Langevin of Franklin, Massachusetts, and Julie Langevin of Revere, Massachusetts.

Ted took great joy in his family, including his six great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Calvin, Jackson, Megan, Molly and Ryan ”“ and another soon to arrive.

Ted’s family wishes to thank the Crossroads and Good Shepherd Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

A gathering to celebrate Ted’s life will be held at Woodland Lake Clubhouse in Lake Alfred, Florida on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. Sometime next spring, there will also be a memorial celebration in Biddeford.
