The family that lost its home in a Dec. 20 Freeport fire has found shelter at the home of a relative in New Harbor. Freeport Housing Trust had provided the family a room at the Freeport Inn until Jan. 6.
Greg Ardelle said that the family, which includes two young children, is living at the residence of his wife Ardelle Ballou’s mother. They have a car that has bad tires and is not dependable, and are having a difficult time finding a home that is in their price range, he said. Both he and his wife are unemployed.
The Ardelles and Sharon Holden both were left homeless when their duplex they lived in at 21-23 Unity Lane burned.
