PLYMOUTH, N.H. — Julia Ramonas scored 18 points and Stephanie Gallagher added a career-high 17 as the University of Southern Maine downed Plymouth State 67-61 in overtime Tuesday in a Little East Conference women’s basketball game.

The Huskies (8-8, 4-2) put together a 17-4 run for a 55-49 lead with 1:24 left in regulation, but the Panthers (6-9, 0-5) forced overtime on a 3-pointer by Kelley Collins and three free throws by Kayla Wyland.

Jillian Madden, who had 10 points for USM, opened overtime with a 3-pointer that was countered by a field goal by Savanah Miller, and Gallagher made a layup for a 61-58 lead with 2:49 left. Ace Lawrence made it 61-61 on a 3-pointer that accounted for Plymouth’s last points.

Cassidy Grover made a jump shot, Rebecca Knight had two free throws, and Madden and Gallagher also made foul shots in the final 1:08.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 68, CURRY 55: Lauren Hayden scored 18 points for the Nor’easters (12-2, 9-0 Commonwealth Coast), who closed the first half with a 15-0 run against the Colonels (9-7, 6-3) at Milton, Massachusetts.

Kelly Coleman, who had 10 rebounds, scored eight consecutive points in the rally.

Meghan Gribbin had 13 points and Alanna Vose added 11 for UNE.

BOWDOIN 81, HUSSON 51: Sara Binkhorst scored 15 points as the Polar Bears (16-2) defeated the Eagles (8-6) at Bangor.

Emily Campbell had 11 points to lead seven reserves, who totaled 45 points for Bowdoin.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

COLBY 86, MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY 64: Sam Willson scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Chris Hudnut added 13 points to lead the Mules (11-6) over the Mariners (1-14) at Waterville.

Luke Westman, who ranks second in the nation with a 75 percent field-goal percentage, went 4 of 5 from the field and finished with nine points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Mules.

Colby closed the first half with a 10-2 run and scored the first seven points of the second to extend its lead to 20 points. The Mules led by at least 15 the rest of the way.

CURRY 80, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 75: Antonio Jones scored 20 of his game-high 29 points in the first half as the Colonels (4-12, 2-7 Commonwealth Coast) built a 10-point lead and held off the Nor’easters (5-11, 3-6) at Milton, Massachusetts.

Jean-Luc Parker had 20 points and Devin Thompson added 18 for the Nor’easters, who never led.

UNE cut the deficit to 76-72 on a layup by Thompson with 43 seconds left, but Curry went 4 of 6 at the foul line down the stretch.

PLYMOUTH STATE 56, SOUTHERN MAINE 50: Jack Preston made a layup with 48 seconds left to give the Panthers (6-10, 1-5 Little East) a 53-50 lead against the Huskies (3-13, 0-6) at Plymouth, New Hampshire.

Jacob Littlefield scored 14 points and Sean Caddigan added 11 for the Huskies, who shot 30 percent.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

COLBY 6, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 3: Lauren Guarente had three goals and the Mules (8-7) scored the final three goals to break a tie and beat the Nor’easters (4-9-3) at Biddeford.

Maddie Dewhirst got the winner on a power play less than a minute after Annie Mullen of UNE made it 3-3 at 7:25 of the third. Bella Papapetros made it 5-3 and Guarente scored in the final minute.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 4, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 2: Daniel McMullan, Damil Blanchet and Tim Coffey scored during a seven-minute span in the second period as the Polar Bears (9-4-2) rallied past the Nor’easters (6-10-1) at Brunswick.

UNE took a 1-0 lead 1:07 into the second period on a goal by Jared Melman. McMullan tied it 10:55 into the period, and Blanchet and Coffey scored 37 seconds apart late in the period.
