SOUTH PORTLAND – South Portland has postponed its Winterfest event, originally scheduled to take place this weekend, due to the impending snow storm, which is on track to hit Maine on Friday, Jan. 30.
The family-friendly event has been rescheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7 instead. All the planned activities will remain on tap. See the South Portland Winterfest page on Facebook for the full schedule and to stay up to date.
The decision to postpone Winterfest was made because the public works crews will be busy dealing with the impending storm and because the organizers wanted to ensure that the community would have a quality event to enjoy, according to a press release.
