A water main break that affected about 60 Portland Water District customers in Cape Elizabeth was finally repaired Monday evening, according to the district’s spokeswoman.

Michelle Clements said repairs were completed at 6:45 p.m. The break was first reported Sunday evening in the vicinity of 999 Shore Road, near the entrance to Fort Williams Park.

Clements said the district reduced water pressure and kept water flowing to the homes in the area during the two-day period. She said the repairs could not be finished Sunday night because the district had to divert resources to fix three other water main breaks.
