A suggestion for our governor, Paul LePage, and the commissioner of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Mary Mayhew:
In order to better understand both the plight and struggles of a majority of our brothers, sisters and children needing support from the homeless shelters throughout Maine, please sign up to spend one week in a shelter.
After that week, I would welcome your perspective on what the homeless face and the services provided through these wonderful institutions.
