Patrick Hills scored three goals and St. Joseph’s dominated the middle quarters on the way to a 13-5 victory over Thomas in a nonconference men’s lacrosse game at Deering High’s Memorial Field on Thursday afternoon.
Hills scored twice during a 10-1 run spanning the second and third quarters that put the Monks (3-2) ahead 10-3.
Brendan Barrett added two goals and three assists, and Dalton Eldridge had two goals and two assists for St. Joseph’s.
Zac Crimmin scored four goals for the Terriers (0-3).
COLBY 17, EMMANUEL 5: Austin Sayre scored five times as the Mules (3-2) handled the Saints (2-4) at Waterville.
Cillian Connor, John Grimaldi, Mark Phillips and Derek Youngman each had two goals for the Mules, who broke it open with eight goals in the third quarter for a 16-1 lead.
Tyler Will and Dylan Rotherberg combined for 13 saves for Colby.
SOFTBALL
FRAMINGHAM STATE 8, UNE 7: Anna Dziok singled in Casey Fanning in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Rams (1-6) over the Nor’easters (4-5) at Clermont, Florida.
Kelly Murphy had three hits with two RBI, and Adrienne Chase had two hits and three RBI for the Nor’easters.
Murphy and Chase each hit run-scoring singles in a four-run first inning.
Chase added a two-run single and Murphy also singled in a run in a three-run fourth.
UNE scored its other runs on a groundout and an error.
BABSON 8, UNE 0: The Beavers (8-4) hit three home runs in defeating the Nor’easters (4-6) in six innings in their second game of the day.
Leslie Moore hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, Samantha Smith hit a two-run shot during a four-run fifth and Lindsey Schmidt added a solo homer in the sixth when Babson scored three times to invoke the mercy rule.
