ISLE OF DREAMS BY STEVE CARTWRIGHT

THOMASTON — A selection of color photographs by Steve Cartwright is on exhibit for the month of March at The Highlands Coffee House, 189 Main St., Thomaston.

Cartwright is a writer and photographer with a passion for covering the coast, hills, bays and islands that, along with the inhabitants, define a sense of place. He seeks images and words that sustain the human spirit.

Cartwright, who lives in Waldoboro, has taken photographs most of his life, starting with a box camera and later apprenticing to artist Barbara Morgan, a pioneer in black and white 35mm photography. Steve edited a newspaper for the Wabanaki tribes in Maine, and spent 30 years writing for daily and weekly newspapers.
