PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The University of Southern Maine used two hits, two walks and two UMass-Dartmouth errors to score four times in the seventh inning and rally for a 5-2 victory over in a nonconference baseball game Sunday afternoon.

Sam Dexter’s bases-loaded single started tied the game at 2, and Paul McDonough drew a walk to force home the go-ahead run.

A double play and an error on a double-steal attempt brought home the final two runs.

Nick George went 71/3 innings to earn the win for the Huskies (9-5). Andrew Richards held the Corsairs (5-4) hitless in the final 12/3 innings.

SOFTBALL

UNE SPLITS WITH ROGER WILLIAMS: Mollie Bartles went 4 for 4 with a double and four RBI to pace the Nor’easters in a 12-5 victory over the Hawks, giving UNE a doubleheader split at Biddeford after an extra-inning loss in the opener.

Meghan Bolano went 2 for 4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Game 2, and Kelly Murphy was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Roger Williams got three runs in the top of the eighth to claim a 6-3 win in the early game. Amanda Vallante had three hits and two RBI for UNE.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

CASTLETON STATE 22, USM 15: Kate Auer scored seven goals, Maddy DaCosta added five, and the Spartans (5-2) closed the first half with eight straight goals to break a 6-6 tie with the Huskies (1-7) at Gorham.

Anh Nguyen and Sam Campobasso scored four goals apiece for USM.
