NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Andrew Richards pitched four innings of relief to earn the win and set the University of Southern Maine career record for victories in a 12-8 baseball win over Framingham State on Sunday.

Richards earned his 25th career win, breaking the mark held by Robert Aceto (1988-91) and Denny Webber (1997-2000). Richards (7-2) allowed two earned runs on five hits and struck out seven.

The Huskies (15-6) scored four in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double by Damon Wallace, an RBI double by Devin Warren and an RBI single by Brendon Joyce.

MAINE SPLITS WITH UMASS-LOWELL: Jacob Gosselin-Deschesnes pitched 22/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the victory as the Black Bears (11-19, 2-6 America East) beat the River Hawks in the first game of a doubleheader in Lowell, Massachusetts.

The River Hawks (7-6, 3-5) won the second game 10-6. Brendan Geary was 2 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored for Maine.

BATES SPLITS WITH COLBY: Will Levangie pitched seven shutout innings as Bates (8-9, 3-2 NESCAC East) rolled past Colby (12-6, 3-3) 17-0 in the second game of a doubleheader at Lewiston.

Nate Pajka went 3 for 5 with five RBI for the Bobcats.

Soren Hanson went 61/3 innings to pick up the win in the first game as Colby won 5-2.

ST. JOSEPH’S SWEEPS NORWICH: Dan Meeken pitched six scoreless innings to get the win for the Monks (17-10, 10-0 GNAC) in a 3-0 win over the Cadets (6-11, 1-7) in the first game at Standish.

St. Joseph’s put together a 12-hit attack in the second game and won 12-4.

SOFTBALL

MAINE 6, UMASS-LOWELL 3: Felicia Lennon went 3 for 4 with a home run to lead the Black Bears (15-15, 4-2 America East) past the River Hawks (10-21, 0-6) at Lowell, Massachusetts.

Nikki Byron added a pair of hits and two RBI.

UNE SWEPT BY WESTERN NEW ENGLAND: Heather Fecteau hit a three-run home run and Western New England (15-6, 7-1 Commonwealth Coast) shut out the University of New England (14-11, 8-4) 5-0 in Game 2 at Springfield, Massachusetts.

Western New England also won the first game, 8-5.

SOUTHERN MAINE SWEPT BY HUSSON: Husson scored five times in the fifth inning to come from behind and earn a 7-5 win over USM (15-11) in the first game of a doubleheader in Bangor.

The Eagles (12-8) scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the second game, 6-3.

BOWDOIN TAKES THREE FROM TRINITY: Julia Geaumont earned a pair of wins and Emily Griffin pitched a shutout as the Polar Bears (18-8, 6-2 NESCAC East) won three games against the Bantams (5-15, 2-4) at Hartford, Connecticut.

Geaumont pitched five innings and allowed only an unearned run in the third game, a 2-1 win. In the second game, Bowdoin had 16 hits and won 11-0 to give Geaumont her first victory of the day.

Griffin allowed six hits and struck out two in the first game, a 2-0 Bowdoin win.

ST. JOSEPH’S SWEEPS MT. IDA: Laura Jordan pitched a four-hitter as the Monks (19-5, 11-4) beat the Mustangs (5-19, 5-10) 9-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Standish.

Kylie McFadden allowed one run and struck out six as St. Joseph’s won the second game, 4-1.

TUFTS SWEEPS BATES: Allison Fournier threw a five inning no-hitter as the Jumbos (20-0, 4-0 NESCAC East) shutout the Bobcats (2-15, 1-6) 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Medford, Massachusetts.

Paige Ahlholm was 3 for 4 with a pair of RBI as Bates lost 8-5 in the second game.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

BOWDOIN 14, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 10: Midfielder Lindsay Picard scored four goals to lead the Polar Bears (10-2, 6-2 NESCAC) over the Camels (3-9, 1-7) at New London, Connecticut.

ST. JOSEPH’S 13, UMASS- DARTMOUTH 6: Kat Gadbois had three goals and three assists as the Monks (12-1, 8-0 GNAC) beat the Corsairs (1-9, 0-2) at Portland.

Elyse Caiazzo contributed four goals and an assist, and Jackie Wilson added three goals.
