A few days ago I was in Hannaford and saw a 7- or 8-year-old scream at his little brother, “I’m gonna rip you a new one!” His mother gave him a wallop on his butt, and he looked at her as if to ask, “What? Did I say something wrong?”
It brought to mind two questions: Where did he pick up that crass little putdown? And why is it OK for our governor to talk like he was a 7-year-old?
