Opening day for South Portland National Little League is 11 a.m. Saturday. Activities for the kids include face painting, speed pitch and refreshments.

There will be a barbecue beginning at noon that will be free for all players and coaches.

Softball and baseball games will be played after the opening ceremonies to kick off the season.
