A motorcyclist who was injured in a collision with a sport utility vehicle in Sanford on Thursday night was flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland
Sanford police Cpl. Matthew Gagne said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury. His name is not being released.
The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene of the crash and released.
Gagne said the accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Pleasant Avenue. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
