I was stunned when I opened the Maine Sunday Telegram on May 10 and saw the headline “Brady lied” on the cover of the Insight section (Page D1) for the commentary by Adam Kilgore of The Washington Post.

Tom Brady being called a liar on the front page of a New England newspaper section has gone way too far.

It is obvious that Mr. Kilgore of The Washington Post is no fan of the New England Patriots and knows absolutely nothing about football. I imagine the toughest sport he ever played was tiddlywinks.

I can try to understand why Mr. Kilgore, who apparently has never had a football in his hands, would be jealous of any athlete who was a winner.

What I find difficult to understand is what made a New England newspaper such as the Maine Sunday Telegram put such a brazen article with the unflattering caricature of Mr. Brady on the front page of the Insight section on Mother’s Day. I have always looked upon the Insight pages to learn facts, not speculation.

Even though I fully understand that your newspaper is more liberal than conservative, trashing a super athlete and a gentleman is very disturbing.
