I think back with a smile when I remember the limousine that pulled up to Monument Square on a cold winter’s day. Out stepped a man to buy a dozen eggs from me while I was trying to sell from my surplus.
Thank you, too, to the people of Portland who support the farmers at the beautiful farmers markets – Wednesday at Monument Square and Saturday at Deering Oaks.
The farmers there work so, so hard all week and display an abundance of flowers, plants and nutrient-rich vegetables. Many farmers now sell a variety of meats. The animals are raised on a manageable scale and given constant care.
Please support the Portland Farmers’ Markets. They are so important for the health of the community.
