Waterman recognized for leadership

New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland presented its Leadership Award to Cathy Waterman of Gorham, the hospital’s director of case management, at its annual Employee Appreciation celebrations held May 27 and 28.

The award is given annually to a member of the hospital’s leadership team who has made significant contributions during the prior year. Waterman has been with the hospital since 1998. She began her career there as a charge nurse and nursing shift coordinator before becoming a case manager in 2001, and director of case management in 2012.

She has previously been honored with the Employee of the Year, Clinician of the Year, and Buzz Fitzgerald awards.

Quint earns degree

Ryan Thomas Quint of Gorham, Maine graduated recently from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. Quint received a bachelor of arts degree in history. He also received the Joseph Carroll Vance Award for excellence in historical research.

He is a 2011 graduate of Gorham High School.

U.S. taxpayer debt

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on June 19 that the U.S. public debt was $18,152,689,167,905.61.

Gorham Woman’s Club recently announced its art show winners.
