Re: “LePage jokes about shooting Maine political cartoonist” (June 25):

I keep wondering what the response would be from law enforcement authorities if I, or another citizen, said that someone should be shot in retaliation for criticism of my actions.

The governor’s use of that kind of terminology is another example of how he doesn’t understand how to react to reasonable concerns about his actions and statements.

The “people of Maine,” all 31 percent of them, made a bad mistake that all of us will be paying for in the years to come.
