A Massachusetts man who was working on a cellphone tower in Gorham suffered a serious injury after he fell off the structure Tuesday afternoon.
A news release from the Gorham Police Department said the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his relatives, was part of a work crew from Centerline Communications in Raynham, Massachusetts, that was removing cables and a section mount, when he fell.
The accident took place around 3:18 p.m. at 11 Kimball Way in Gorham. The man was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with what police described as “serious” injuries. His condition was not available Tuesday night.
Officer Dean R. Hannon II said the man’s family lives in Brockton, Massachusetts.
The Maine Department of Labor is investigating the accident.
