Want more guidance as you follow the path of entrepreneurship, but want to do it from the comfort of your own home?

The Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development may be able to help.

The independent nonprofit organization has launched an online education platform at www.MCEDonlineU.com. So far, the platform has one self-paced course available: “Launch Your Brilliant Idea.” The course is separated into 25 online learning modules, each roughly ten minutes long, that can be accessed at any time by the student. The course costs $50, though that can later be applied to the full cost of MCED’s existing eight-week online entrepreneurial training program, Top Gun Prep, which begins in the fall. Top Gun Prep normally costs $300.

Don Gooding, MCED’s executive director, said there’s no firm timeline for when new courses will be added to the online education platform, but he expects courses will eventually be added on marketing, financials, and how to approach financing.

“Our mission is to build world-class Maine companies,” Gooding said, “and that starts with introducing aspiring entrepreneurs to the tools and information they need to understand and navigate the challenges they face.”

If you’re interested in the full Top Gun Prep online course, MCED provides the first five modules for free on its website.
