LIVERMORE, N.H. — Rescuers have come to the aid of a 12-year-old girl who was injured after a rock fell on her foot at a waterfall in the White Mountain National Forest.

The girl from Poland, Maine, was hiking at the Arethusa Falls Trail at Crawford Notch State Park on Wednesday afternoon when she was hurt. She was carried to the trailhead and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says while responders went to the girl, a second hiker was injured on the Diana’s Baths trail in North Conway, about 18 miles away. Rescuers treated a 10-year-old boy from Concord, New Hampshire, for a knee injury. He was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
