Volleyball Camp

The Windham-Raymond Volleyball team will be hosting a second volleyball camp week for fifth-ninth grade kids who would be interested in learning how to play volleyball or continue learning new skills. The camp will begin on July 27 from 8 a.m.-noon, Monday through Friday at the Windham Middle School gym. Email Lisa Potvin at lmpotvin@yahoo.com or call 233-5487 to register or ask questions.

Italian Dinner

Windham Knights of Columbus will hold an Italian dinner on Saturday, July 11, from 5-6 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in North Windham. The profits from the dinner will support the efforts of Maine Special Olympics. The menu includes homemade marinara sauce and meatballs, pasta, traditional Italian antipasto salad, garlic rolls, beverages and a homemade dessert buffet. Dinner is $9 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under, and meals will be available to go. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Historic Yard Sale

On Saturday, July 11, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., (weather permitting) the Windham Historical Society will hold a huge yard sale at its headquarters, Gray Road side. Desks, Victorian rocker, Tonka trucks and Matchbox cars (hundreds), dolls, cut glass dishes, some tools, fishing equipment, books and cookbooks, holiday decorations, sewing supplies, desks, and much more.

Good Shepherd Comes to Windham

On Wednesday, July 15, the Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Food Mobile is coming to Windham from 10-11:30 a.m. Anyone in need of emergency food assistance in Windham and the surrounding area is welcome to attend. The Windham Food Pantry is located at 377 Gray Road. Mark your calendar and bring your bags for the food.

Beans for Baseball

On Friday, July 24, a baked bean supper will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Windham Veterans Center, Memorial Drive, North Windham. The proceeds will support the Field-Allen American Legion Baseball program. Tickets are $8. Age 12 and under, free. The menu includes beans, salads, casseroles, hot dogs, desserts and beverages. Veterans Support

Veterans Support Officer Matt Haley will be at the Windham Veterans Center on Wednesday, July 22 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Note these are longer hours to meet the increasing need. If you have questions about benefits and are a veteran or dependent of a veteran, stop by. No appointment is needed. VSO Haley is available on the second and fourth Wednesdays each month. Bingo at Veterans Center

Every Tuesday through October, is Bingo Night at the Windham Veterans Center, provided by Standish American Legion Memorial Post 128. Doors are open at 4 p.m. and the Early Bird game starts at 6:10 p.m. with the regular games starting at 6:30 p.m. There are 14 regular games besides the Early Bird game plus the Winner Take All game. Pull Tabs are also available. Refreshments including hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee and baked goods available for sale by the Windham Field Allen Post 148 Auxiliary. All proceeds go to benefit veterans and their families.

Bus Driver Training

Windham Raymond Adult Education will offer a Professional School Bus Driver Training Program this summer. This two-week program also includes instruction on topics such as student management and confidentiality requirements. Range and road instruction will feature Class B buses with automatic transmissions. Training will be held at Windham Raymond Adult Education located at 406 Gray Road, Windham, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on July 28, 29 and 30; also Aug. 4, 5 and 6.
