Gov. LePage has stated that the purpose of his actions over the last month has been to waste legislators’ time.

Aside from the immaturity of that reasoning alone, what about taxpayers’ time and money he’s now wasting by keeping the Legislature in session to deal with the consequences of his juvenile actions, as well as the money that may potentially be spent on further wrangling over the semantics of the word “adjourn”?

What about the lost time that could have spent on more productive work? The time wasted in Maine towns and cities waiting months for a state budget that was finally passed in spite of him?

He claims that he alone is looking out for “the people,” but what about the people who elected the legislators – from both parties – whose bills he is vetoing?

What companies will want to relocate to a state with this political climate, where the governor is willing to jeopardize even his own goals to score cheap political points – not to mention use his political power to harm an opponent’s personal livelihood?

This man’s antics are harming the state’s economy and poisoning the political environment. He needs to either grow up or leave office.
