Ruth L. West’s explanation of why Donald Trump is a much better person than Pope Francis was the most brilliant piece of political satire I’ve read since Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” which suggested that the Irish solve their economic woes during the Great Potato Famine by selling their children as food for rich gentlemen and ladies.

Thanks for including a much-needed laugh on the editorial pages during this dour political season.
