Kudos to Marcy’s Diner for bouncing a spoiled child and her unruly parents (“Owner of Portland diner defends yelling at screaming child,” July 19).

When my children were that age and we went out for a meal, if they misbehaved or acted out, we would give them one warning. If they continued, my wife or I would walk them out while the other settled the bill and got a doggie bag to go.

It’s a shame that modern parents don’t spend time teaching their children manners instead of imposing the kids’ poor behavior on the rest of us.

My wife and I visit Portland frequently to visit the Portland Museum of Art and other attractions, and we will make a point of finding Marcy’s to enjoy a quiet lunch whenever we come.
